A topic that is on every CEO’s mind is ‘how are we going to get more sales?’ Of course, this translates into ‘how are we going to get more leads?’ Organizations must have a plan to attract more customers. Especially if these organizations are Telecom Service Providers.
This can be difficult because sometimes the service provider does not market directly to the end-user. Either way, it is important to have a plan! We are going to help you with that plan. Keep reading to hear some of our tips!
First Page of Google Searches
Do you even know what page your business is coming up on? When a person does a Google search for ‘telephony providers in my area’, they are most likely going to click on the first one that pops up. It is important to get your website in a better organic ranking status.
Step 1
Make sure your website looks attractive! No one will stay on a website that looks sketchy or is difficult to navigate. Ensure your website looks visually presentable and trustworthy.
Step 2
Speaking of trust, it is important that your website has an SSL/TLS lock on it. If your website is not secure, Google will move you down in the search results.
Step 3
Another way to move your website up in the search rankings is for it to be mobile-friendly. If your website is not compatible with mobile devices, Google will move it down in the search results. Potential customers will also get frustrated if they search for you on their phone and the website will not load.
Spend the extra money and have a professional host your website! Although you can host it yourself, it doesn’t mean you should. If your website does not meet the requirements for Google Ranking, it may end up costing you money. Professionals will also ensure your website looks attractive, is secure and mobile-friendly.
Have a Blog
Having a blog has many benefits for your company! Creating content will:
- Boost your SEO
- Establish yourself in the Industry
- Generate Leads
- Create Opportunities for Discussion and Sharing
- Add Personality to your Brand
If you do not have time to write content or maybe you’re not the best writer, you can outsource! While attending the ASCII Group SMB IT Success Summit, they recommended a company called ‘RightlyWritten.’ It is a website where you can hire writers and pay per post. They have extremely talented people who not only write blog posts but press releases, articles and other content for your website.
If hiring writers or starting a blog isn’t in the budget, there are many other blogs to get information from. Keep up to date with industry knowledge, trends and more from this list of the ‘Top 50 Telecom Blogs, Website & Newsletters to Follow in 2019’ presented by Feedspot.
Social Media
Now that you know where to go for content, you need to promote it! The best place to do that is on social media. You can choose from many outlets like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Be active on social media and interact with people who you know, your customers, and potential customers. Social media platforms are a great way to show off your brand, your employees and what you’re passionate about!
Advertise on a Small Scale
Remember you are competing against big, nationwide companies. But are you really competing when your business is up the road from your customer? A big company is not going to run into your customer at the local coffee shop. And they certainly aren’t driving over to their office when they call with a problem.
Large corporations lack the personal touch that small businesses have. When a problem arises, large corporations force their customers to call busy contact centers and wait on hold. Promote the benefit of your small business being in their community. Once you target everyone in your area, you can expand your geographical reach.
White-Label Providers
What would you do if, as a customer, you found a potential provider’s website covered in another brand name? I know I would do a Google search of that particular brand. Then what would stop me from going straight to the manufacturer? Or worse, finding another provider from the manufacturer’s website?
If you are a reseller, you should work with providers who offer white-label solutions. This way you can sell your products with your name, your logo and your brand colors. When a potential customer finds you, they will have no idea that you are not the original manufacturer.
