Another way to move your website up in the search rankings is for it to be mobile-friendly. If your website is not compatible with mobile devices, Google will move it down in the search results. Potential customers will also get frustrated if they search for you on their phone and the website will not load.  

Spend the extra money and have a professional host your website! Although you can host it yourself, it doesn’t mean you should. If your website does not meet the requirements for Google Ranking, it may end up costing you money. Professionals will also ensure your website looks attractive, is secure and mobile-friendly.

Remember you are competing against big, nationwide companies. But are you really competing when your business is up the road from your customer? A big company is not going to run into your customer at the local coffee shop. And they certainly aren’t driving over to their office when they call with a problem. 

Large corporations lack the personal touch that small businesses have. When a problem arises, large corporations force their customers to call busy contact centers and wait on hold. Promote the benefit of your small business being in their community. Once you target everyone in your area, you can expand your geographical reach.
