Integrations, especially with third-party software, are extremely valuable. Not only does it provide more opportunity, but it also improves the convenience for users. If you haven’t heard of the news already, Bicom Systems VoIP solution, PBXware, now integrates with Microsoft Teams through Call2Teams thanks to Qunifi! Learn more about this integration by reading our previously written article here.
If you are unfamiliar with the Call2Teams function, the above paragraph can be a lot to take in. But we are trying to say that our partners can now offer the option to their customers to enable calls in Microsoft Teams using their existing PBXware phone system.
With that, you may be thinking, “but you already offer a VoIP functionality called PBXware?” Correct. We do offer the world’s first and most mature open standards, turnkey, telephony platform. Integrating with third-party software, such as Call2Teams, will allow our partners to reach a wider audience, especially if the said audience prefers to use both Bicom Systems and Microsoft Teams solutions.
Responding to customer’s demands is extremely important to us. On top of that, the rise in demand for unified communications solutions has skyrocketed since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Since we already share a similar target audience with Microsoft Teams, our team thought it only makes sense to integrate the two solutions.
Integrating Call2Teams and PBXware is extremely easy! The Call2Teams global SBC network sits at the core of the solution that is connecting PBXware to Microsoft Teams. Usually, Microsoft Team members connect to the Office 365 phone system, sending calls to the Call2Teams platform.
By integrating PBXware, when Call2Teams receives the information to place a call, it will connect to your PBXware and emulate a regular SIP VOIP handset making a call with the number the user has entered. PBXware will take the dialled number and place the call either internally or via the upstream PSTN phone company. PBXware handles all incoming calls, and the user can choose which device to answer them on.
How it Works
In a previous blog post, we highlighted that Bicom Systems and Microsoft Teams are not competitors. Microsoft Teams is set up as a core member of their Office 365 suite. Ultimately making it a true hub for teamwork with the signature software applications like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. By bringing together collaboration applications such as Office 365 and integration of Call2Teams, users can deliver a voice solution that combines Unified Communications and Teams collaboration tools. Third-party integrations are great because instead of spending months developing features, users can quickly add them based on their business needs.
Before this integration with Call2Teams, Bicom Systems constantly was working on adding value to the many businesses that are partners. Our team allowed partners to connect their applications to PBXware with the simple, powerful, and secure application programming interface, also known as API. Users can access extensions, trunks, DIDs, ring groups, IVRs, and more via the https protocol.
There is no doubt that APIs bring additional functionality, which ultimately increases the value proposition of any business. The complete package of services that users offer instantly becomes more valuable when enhanced with effective third-party software.
