That’s a wrap on Enterprise Connect 2022! If you are following us on social media, you saw that our team flew to Orlando, FL, to attend the four-day event this past March. After nearly three years, we were excited (and nervous) to participate in a trade show at such capacity as EC.
If you are unfamiliar with Enterprise Connect, it is a tech trade show that brings together IT professionals and vendors from across the globe to discuss the latest enterprise technologies. It was our second time attending the show, and although there were apparent differences from 2019, our team enjoyed their time.
In this blog post, we plan to answer these three burning questions:
- Are in-person trade shows still relevant?
- How was the first-ever Bicom Systems Awards?
- What was the overall experience?
ARE IN-PERSON TRADE SHOWS STILL RELEVANT?
This question came up a few times before, during, and after our time at Enterprise Connect. Yes – in-person trade shows are still relevant! Speaking to leads, partners, and people in the industry is different in-person vs. virtually. You can create more personable connections at live events and showcase your personality. A good rule of thumb to follow is people first, product second.
The WFH tools we use daily are great for continuing relationships with people we already know. However, attending an in-person trade show gets you out from behind the screen and a chance to network and socialize. It almost feels like an escape — a breath of fresh air to see body language, facial expressions, and mannerisms in real-time.
HOW WAS THE FIRST-EVER BICOM SYSTEMS AWARDS?
This year at Enterprise Connect, we held our first ever Bicom Systems Awards! Three awards were honored to partners in their respective categories, and each category was in collaboration with a hardware manufacturer.

They joined the Bicom Systems family a few years ago, and Craig‘s relationship with David Esarey, Account Manager at Bicom Systems, is unmatched. During our time together in Orlando, Craig even said he felt like a part of the team.
Thank you, Craig, for being our most collaborative and innovative partner in 2021!

WHAT WAS YOUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE?
Last but not least, we answer the question, what was the Bicom Systems team’s overall experience at Enterprise Connect?
There is no denying that our team had uncertainty and doubts in the pre-planning phase. We had questions like: Are we being too bold to do this? Should we be traveling so soon? But on the other hand, those uncertainties were mixed with excitement! The world is finally moving forward, and we will be meeting our long-term partners, coworkers, and new people. Overall, our time at Enterprise Connect was great! Both the in-person and virtual booths had many meetings and considerable traffic. We are eager to begin the next steps with the leads we met and the connections we made.
What trade show are we attending next? In November, we are headed to CVx 2022 in Scottsdale, Arizona!
